Amanda shares modern sportscar with partner Anthony at Spa
Amanda was back in the hot seat for the first time sharing a racing car with her partner Anthony Dunn at Spa Francorchamps. The pair drove a Lanan Racing prepared Norma in the 4 hour Britcar / Britsports night race.
Amanda had a short run in a Radical sportscar at Croft prior to the event to acclimatise her to the type of car. “Although we’ve done a few karting events together and we go to each others races, we’ve never actually raced a car together” said Amanda. The pair first met at Silverstone where they also continue to work together as racing instructors. They shared the car with Swiss resident Barry Gates who has been winning races with Anthony in the Radical Enduro British Championship this year. Although the trio set competitive times in practice & qualified 3rd overall, a heavy crash by Gates in the fast Blanchimont corner badly damaged the car & put them out of the running. "It's a shame the accident happened because we were fast enough to win" said Anthony. The race was won by Peter Cook & Frank Pelle in a Porsche 911 GT2.
