Posted by Amanda Whitaker on March 13, 2010 at 7:47 AM
Amanda presented her racing car to a busy open day at George Stephenson High School in Killingworth. The day was a STEM Club celebration event held by the school featuring displays & workshops related to Science, Maths and Engineering. Between 100-200 pupils were in attendance.

Amanda displayed her Elden Mk8 that she raced in 2009 to 4 wins and second place in the HSCC Formula Ford National Championship. As one of the UK’s most successful female racing drivers, she was on hand to answer questions from the students on how she has made a career from the sport.

She was invited as a special guest as her fiance Anthony was presenting to the students as part of the Motor Sport Association’s Go Motorsport campaign, encouraging youngsters to get involved in motorsport.

Anthony also displayed a collection of genuine Williams Formula One car components for the students to learn and made a presentation to the students including a video of how & where to watch, help or drive in motorsport, introduced by F1 star Lewis Hamilton.
